Everyone needs a little time to let down their hair and relax now and then. Even if you’re short of money, you can still have that night out with your friends.
Go for a potluck
Potlucks are one way to invite people and avoid the expense of serving a lot of people. People can bring their own favorite dish to the party location. That allows your guests a chance to share the things they like to eat with others. Your guests will have something at your party they know they’re going to like to eat. People can also share the foods they really love with others who may not have sampled them before.
Look for free dance nights
Many locales such as clubs and hotels have a free dance night where you can get down and relax. This is one way to avoid pricey cover fees. It’s also one way to invite your friends to come along. Look up parties in your area. Many have certain restrictions. You might have to arrive there before a given time or leave well before it’s closing time. Still, you’ll get a chance to have fun without having to spend a lot of money.
Don’t get too fancy
A time at a bar is a good way to let go of the week’s stress. Just keep in mind many bars have fiscal pitfalls you don’t need. Fancy drinks with those charming umbrellas, for example, look fun but they can push your budget much further than you’re willing to spend. This is time to speak with the bartender. Find out what’s on tap that isn’t going to cost you a lot of money. You might want to have just a can of beer or a small glass of wine. That means you can still have a good time and still have something to drink.
Go for the board games
Board games are a long cherished pastime. There’s good reason so many people adore them. For a few bucks, you can have fun again and again. Look to yard sales and other cheaper options to pick them up for a song. Ask your friends about their own personal favorites. They can introduce you to a brand new game you might not have seen before. Learning a new game is one way for both you and your friends to have a good time and not spend a lot.
Use your backyard
A backyard is a great place to spend a Friday night. This is your own personal space. Make the most of it in every way. Bring out the storage camping gear and travel to your own yard. If you don’t have a tent, bring out the old sheets. Pop them on a few outdoor chairs and you’re in business. Add those fairy lights to one side so you can see what you’re doing. Sit back and have a look at the stars in front of you. You’ll have a memorable night without leaving your own home.
